This is an image of a couple going about their usual day full of fun and relaxation. This image itself exemplifies many leisurely activities, from barbecuing with friends to a boat ride on the beach. Each image exemplifies a different part of leisure, which can be enjoyed on an everyday basis. The meaning of this image to me is showing different ways in which leisure can be portrayed. It can be relaxing with your loved ones at home, hanging out with friends at a barbecue, riding your sailboat across the waters, or dancing the night away at your local restaurant. It is not the image itself that we should focus on, but the meaning behind the image. The point of the picture is to show that leisure is not just about having free time, but in what ways to enjoy your free time.
With that in mind, we come to the definition of leisure in my eyes. Leisure to me means having the ability to use your free time wisely, not letting any of it go to waste. Being able to look at your day in perspective and be happy with it because you know you did something productive. Being able to have a plan in mind and execute it efficiently. Leisure has so many dimensions to it, that one definition cannot do it justice, but the definition I have come up with comes close to summing up all the different parts of leisure.
